Dollhouse Finale a Snooze

dollhouse echo thumb_wallpaper_1600_7 We all knew, the writers included, that Dollhouse was going to be cancelled. So why didn’t the writers  take time to write a good ending? I found it hard to stay focused on what was going on from the moment they decided to fast forward ten years at the beginning of the episode. Apparently most everyone in the world has decided to become a doll and there is very little self-awareness in the world. Now it is (still) up to Echo and her previous Dollhouse Crew to try to restore order to the world by destroying the man and equipment that creates the dolls.

I never understood the premise behind the tech anyway. Why would anyone volunteer to have their mind erased and replaced by someone they are not aware of? It would be like going to sleep for 5 years and then waking up. Why would anything be different in 5 years? I would think any issues you had with yourself or someone else that caused you to volunteer to have a brain wipe would still be around in some form or another. The idea was a good one from a writers’ perspective. They could create a new character every week. They could have lovers or fighters or businessmen or pretend wives and husbands. The list was endless.

Eliza Dushku did a great job of portraying the lead Doll named Echo. She also produced the show. I also enjoyed seeing new faces (actors) on Dollhouse and I hope to see them all in something else in the near future.
